Sun Safety

We all know how important it is to wear sunscreen, because nobody likes a sunburn and long term damage to our skin. But our eyes are just as important, especially the developing eyes of our children.

There are two types of UV rays to be aware of: UVA and UVB. These rays can cause or speed up the progress of several diseases that affect the eye or its supporting structures. Most of the damage caused to eyes by UVA and UVB rays will happen over a long period of time and cannot be reversed.* So it’s more important than ever to have our kids get in the habit of wearing sunglasses at an early age to ensure they limit any potential damage and promote healthy eyes as they grow and play.

Ray Bendz Sunglasses are UV 400 rated. What does that mean you ask? UV 400 indicates an eye protection item that has been optimized to prevent eye exposure to both UVA and UVB radiation. UV 400 protected items are capable of blocking light rays as small as 400 nanometers. This means that anywhere from 99 to 100 percent of the sun's harmful radiation is kept away from the eyes, supporting eye protection.**
